Donate to Geeta Chhetri Fund

Thank you all for the donations made to Geeta Chhetri’s fund

Dear big hearted friends,

Let me tell you a tragic story. A mother comes to attend the graduation ceremony of her son in the United States from Nepal. She meets her son and on her way home she plans on touring DC and NY in a tourist bus. That bus unfornately crashes, overturns and leaves many dead and many injured. She is among the injured and her injury has left her paralyzed and bed ridden for over 8 months. Her son who was in the bus too, incurs few fractures but avoids major injury. This is a true story of Geeta Chhetri and his son Pratik Chhetri. Here are the links.

A big hearted person, her life long friend Uttara Basnet an her family has given her shelter in High Point, North Carolina following her hospital stay and treatment. “Over these months she has improved a little and still does not have mobility of legs and hands,” says Narayan Khadka, NASeA executive member who also lives in High Point. Our president Sanjeeb Sapkota who also visited her in High says that she is still dependent on others for basic feeding and sanitary chores. The urgent need now is the medical and other costs that need has piled up and Community Services Committee of NASeA would like to raise funds for her cause.

We urge all benevolent persons like you out there in every corner, states to stand with us to provide some financial support, be it even a dollar. Every dollar counts! Your contribution is highly appreciated in this great humanitarian cause of saving Geeta Chhetri’s life. Together we stand, divided we fall.

Donate to help the children of late Damodar Pathak

We have closed the donation for this. Thank you everyone who donated to this cause. Latest news that we have on this is Prahlad Pant has kindly stepped up to the task of providing education for the children from the organization that he sponsors in Nepal.

Dear Friends,

We are raising funds to assist the family of Damodar Pathak. He was shot and killed in cold blod at the place of his work around 11:30pm, Monday night, January 9th, 2012. He was taken to Grady Memorial hospital, where later he was pronounced dead. Atlanta Police Department has the suspects in their custody.

His children Nicky Pathak (13) and Nicholas Pathak (9) are currently staying at Lalitpur, Nepal. Without the bread winner of a family, even simple everyday routines becomes increasingly difficult. With the drop of your support and love, these kids will have peace of mind when it comes to their basic needs and their school fees, until the permanent solution to their problem comes along.

Once again, time has come to show our unity, togetherness, and prove ourselves that we are here for each other. Our friend Damodar would have done the same, God forbid, if this had happened to me or you.

In the face of unexplainable pain you will provide an undeniable hope, I know with your generous support, this will bring a smile in Damodar Peter Pathak’s face knowing his kids will be ok in his absence.

Sincerely,
Pranaya Lama

In other words, it means company with a spiritual teacher or a group of people who discusses and listen to truthful teachings, discourses etc. Satsang involves bhajana (songs dedicated to God), meditations, teachings, lectures and question and answers that are aimed to the true purpose of live. Hinduism and Buddhism have numerous scriptures that faciliate Satsang.

Raman Raj Sastri, a true devotee of lord Krishna, has been practicing Satsang in Krishna Pranami Temple of Nashville TN and other places.

You are highly welcome to watch the broadcast live from the comfort of your house using your desktop, laptop or other mobile devises (link to the broadcast will be sent in next email) or join in person in the above broadcast address. Prasad will be offered at the above broadcast address.

Sad news for Nepali Community

Dear All,
Today is a sad day for Nepali community that we had to face this
unbearable news of homicide of our innocent Nepali brother Damoder
Pathak while he was working to earn him living.

NASeA strongly condemns the ruthless homicide of Damoder by an
yet-unidentified robber last night when he was working at a gas station in
Dekalb County of Gerogia. This is a severe blow to each and every people
of Nepali origin in the United States. Not a long time ago, we had to lose
another Nepali to death in Baltimore and the cause of that still remain
unknown.

Costomers called Damoder Pathak as Peter with love and everyone liked
him for his hard work, sincerity and genial behaviour. One costumer said in
the news link below that he was such a helpful person that he would give
his shirt off his back.
https://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/local_news/Shooting-at-BP-Station-Leaves-One-Dead-20120110-am-sd

NASeA requests the concerned authority a full and serious investigations on
this matter to get the culprit to the justice. NASeA through its Committee
on Community Services would work with Nepalese Association in Geogia (NAG)
to take necessary steps to provide immediate support to the children and
family of deceased Mr. Pathak. Below is the detail on this news by NAG
president Pranaya Lama.

Please bring Damoder in your thoughts and prayers and please support NAG
and NASeA in providing the best help to the Pathak family.

Sincerely,

Sanjeeb Sapkota
