1. Welcome & Opening Remarks
Mrs. Bimala Adhikari opened the meeting by welcoming all attendees and briefly outlining the key objectives for the session.

2. Meeting Summary
The meeting centered on several administrative and operational priorities for NASeA, including:

Formation of a Finance Subcommittee in alignment with NASeA’s Bylaws
Updates on the organizational website upgrade
Planning and participation for International Women’s Day events across states
Updates regarding Nepal Day in North Carolina
The need to schedule a separate meeting for NASeA’s Annual General Meeting and Convention
Additional updates on community matters and ongoing NASeA engagements

3. Agenda Discussions
A. Finance Committee Appointment Discussion
The board discussed the structure and leadership of the Finance Committee.
It was agreed that the committee will consist of five members.
The President and Treasurer will serve as Committee Chairs.
Additional member(s) will be appointed at a later date.
Members emphasized the importance of following NASeA’s Bylaws during the formation process.
The team also discussed establishing a standardized process for issuing official receipts to donors for tax purposes, which will be overseen by the Finance Committee.
B. General Meeting Discussion Topics
Mrs. Parbati Timalsina provided updates on the upcoming International Women’s Day celebration in North Carolina and NASeA’s involvement.
The board approved a $200 contribution to support the event, collected jointly.
Mrs.Timalsina will deliver the closing ceremony speech on behalf of NASeA, on that event.
She encouraged all members to participate and support the program.
Madam President, Mrs. Bidya Gurung, along with local members will attend the similar functions here in the State of Georgia.
C. Organizational Website Updates
Mr. Nishant Aryal presented updates on the ongoing website upgrade project.
Key needs identified:
A fully mobile-responsive design
Enhanced data security
A modernized visual facelift
He emphasized the importance of hiring a professional external vendor for the project.
Mrs. Nishant is currently evaluating potential vendors and will present the proposed cost for approval in the next meeting.

4. Additional Discussions
Brief updates were shared on the following topics:NASeA’s involvement in the final arrangements for Late Sreejana Khatri – Mr. Pranaya Lama
Progress on the new edition of Shangri-La Post, led by Dr. Dilip Panthi
Update on the situation involving Abhi Rajbanshi and Family, presented by Mrs. Kusum Baral

5. Next Steps
Schedule a separate meeting dedicated to planning NASeA’s Annual General Meeting and Convention.
Finalize the Finance Committee membership.
Review vendor proposals for the website upgrade.

A. Rebuilt Nepal Fund Delivery
● The Rebuilt Nepal collection funds were officially handed over to the Prime Minister of
Nepal by Treasurer Puran Raj Khatiwada.
● The President described this as a proud moment for NASeA.
● All E-board members expressed their full support for this action.
B. Blood Drive Initiative
● Vice President Pranay Lama and Nishant Aryal will collaborate on organizing the blood
drive.
● Additional details will be provided at a later date.

C. Table Tennis Tournament
● The event will be led by Pranay Lama.
● More information will be shared soon.
D. Emergency Support for Abhi and Koshika (Apartment Fire)
● E-board members extended their wishes for a speedy recovery.
● A GoFundMe campaign has already been established.
● NASeA will support and share the fundraiser.

4. Open Floor Discussion
● Group Email Issue:
Dilip Panthi raised concerns regarding issues with the group email system.
○ The membership database needs to be updated.
○ Nishant Aryal and Rubi Baral will work together to resolve this issue.
● Moment of Silence:
The President requested a moment of silence in honor of Police Officer Pradip Tamang.
She also asked members who live nearby to consider attending the funeral service.

Meeting with NASeA Past Presidents
Date: 01.15.2026

Attendees
NASeA Past Presidents, current NASeA leadership representatives.

Purpose
To gather insight, guidance, and historical perspective from NASeA Past Presidents to support
current leadership and future organizational growth.

Discussion Summary

The meeting started with the current executive team members’ introduction.
Past Presidents reflected on their leadership experiences and the evolution of NASeA. They
highlighted the importance of maintaining the organization’s mission while adapting to changing
member needs.
Key challenges discussed included leadership transitions, member engagement, and balancing
tradition with modernization. Past Presidents emphasized strong communication, collaboration,
and long-term planning as essential strategies.
Advice for current and future leaders focused on building leadership pipelines, encouraging
active member involvement, seeking feedback, and maintaining transparency. The value of
mentorship and institutional knowledge was strongly emphasized.
An open allowed current leaders to ask about decision-making, organizational change, and
best practices. Past Presidents offered practical guidance and expressed willingness to remain
involved as advisors.

Agenda & Minutes
Member Guru Dhungel reported on the successful completion of the November 20th talk session with Dr. Hom Basnet and November 30th Sahitya Sangram Program. He also thanked NASeA for providing much needed financial support for the program. The upcoming December 15th program featuring Dr. Surindra Bandari was cancelled after discussion.

Sub-Committee updates were also presented by the respective Committee Chair. The Publication Committee is working on the publication of Shangri-La and requested for additional articles.

Additionally, members planned a December 13th meet-and-greet program with local singer Satyakal Rai.

Opening Remarks

Madam President extended warm wishes to all members on the occasion of the upcoming Vijaya Dashami and Tihar festivals. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Pranaya Lama.

  1. Condolence Tribute  Presented by Bidya Gurung
    A moment of silence was observed in honor of the late Shanta Bikram Thapa and other recent departed souls.
  2. Community Engagement  Presented by Bidya Gurung
    • NASeA participated in a candlelight vigil commemorating Gen-Z lives lost in Nepal across various states.
    • Madam President expressed gratitude to the Nepalese Student Association at the University of South Carolina for including NASeA in their welcome event.
  3. Organizational Access Transition  Presented by Bimala Adhikari
    • Transition of access to NASeA’s official email, social media platforms, and Zoom account from the previous executive team has been completed.
    • Special thanks extended to Mr. Nishant Aryal, former General Secretary, for his support.
  4. Regulatory Compliance Update  Presented by Pranaya Lama
    • Annual registration and officer updates with the Georgia Secretary of State have been successfully completed.
  5. Fundraising Progress Report  Presented by Pranaya Lama
    • Updates shared on the GoFundMe campaign to help rebuild Nepal after the recent damages. Mr. Lama also included the current collections, associated fees, and campaign deadlines.
  6. Financial Overview  Presented by Puran Khatiwada
    • Treasurer shared current financial and budgetary status.
    • Challenges in transferring Zelle and PayPal accounts were noted; a meeting with the former Treasurer is scheduled to resolve the issue.
  7. Subcommittee Formation  Presented by Bidya Gurung
    • Initial discussion held on forming 16 subcommittees.
    • Some committees may be merged due to overlapping objectives.
    • Members expressed interest in leading the following committees:
      • Dr. Dilip Panthi – Publication Committee
      • Mrs. Kusum Baral – Membership Drive Committee
      • Mr. Abhi Rajbanshi – Sports and Publication Committee
      • Mrs. Bimala Adhikari – Women and Children Committee
      • Mr. Guru Prasad Dhungel – Public Relations Committee
    • Finalization of committee structures and assignments will occur soon.
  8. Communications Update  Presented by Nishant Aryal
    • Recent updates to the NASeA website were shared.
    • Mr. Aryal offered continued support for website maintenance and thanked Mr. Rubi Baral and Dr. Dilip Panthi for their collaboration.
  9. Deusi Bhailo Fundraising Event  Presented by Pranaya Lama
    • NASeA will host a Deusi Bhailo event in Georgia, focused on fundraising and cultural promotion.
    • V.P. Lama encouraged other state chapters to organize similar events.

Open Discussions

  • Mr. Guru Prasad Dhungel shared a tentative schedule of upcoming events in South Carolina and requested coordination to avoid conflicts. He invited Madam President to attend as Chief Guest.
  • Mrs. Bimala Adhikari proposed forming an Entrepreneurs Committee to support local businesses.
  • Mr. Puran Raj Khatiwada suggested organizing public health awareness events across states to benefit local communities.
