Established in 1967, the America Nepal Society (ANS) is one of the oldest non-profit organizations that has been serving the Nepalese expatriates and friends of Nepal since its inception; and has been working for charitable, literary and educational activities. The objectives of ANS includes fostering greater knowledge and understanding of literature, arts, cultures, values, manners, social customs, and other facts of diversities and similarities among Americans and Nepalese in the USA.

ANS is proud to announce the Annual ANS- Binod/Sabirti Mainali Scholarship for year 2015. This scholarship is dedicated to Binod and Sabitri Mainali for their lifelong dedication to their family and community.

This scholarship is open to High School seniors of Nepalese origins who are residents of Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia Pennsylvania and North Carolina. The purpose of this scholarship is to embolden High School seniors of Nepalese origin who excel academically, show leadership among peers, and make a positive impact within Nepalese community.

Theme: Life as a diplomat and beyond: An envoy reflects on the current politics and life in Nepal

Dr. Sharma is a globally renowned diplomat from Nepal. He has served as the Ambassador of Nepal to the United States earlier. He has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Hawaii. He was the Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Nepal from 2002 to 2006.

Before joining the National Planning Commission as a Member in 1997, he worked as a Senior Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Nepal; Senior Economist in the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore; and a Fellow in the East-West Center, Hawaii. He also served as a Professor of Economics in the Centre for Economic Development and Administration, Tribhuvan University. Dr. Sharma was a lead consultant to the Constitution Committee on “Distribution of Natural Resources, Economic Rights and Public Revenue” in helping to draft the new Constitution of Nepal.

Dr. Sharma has much expertise at the grass-roots level as he has been an international consultant in Laos, Bhutan, and India. He also worked as a consultant expert in a number of national and international agencies including the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and UNDP. Dr. Sharma was also an editor to ASEAN Economic Bulletin and a consultant editor to Hydrocarbon Asia, both published from Singapore for about seven years. Currently Dr. Sharma serves as a Team Leader in a project on Federalism sponsored by the Government of Nepal and UNDP. He is a good friend of NASeA and has appeared frequently in this program and conventions.

Shesh Ghale is the current President of Non-Resident Nepali Association International Coordination Council (NRNA-ICC). He is one of the most famous Nepalese diaspora and lives in Melbourne, Australia. He is spearheading an effort in raising 150 million rupees for an NRNA building project in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is the foremost educationist, a shrewd businessman and a generous philanthropist. Mr. Ghale holds two masters degrees (one in Civil Engineering from Ukraine and another one in Business Administration from Victoria University, Australia). Currently, he is CEO and founder of Melbourne Institute of Technology. He also served as Honorary Consular General of Nepal in Victoria from 1997 to 2000.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नेपाली साहित्य समाज (अनेसास) फ़्लोरिडा च्याप्टरको पाचौं अधिवेशन मार्च १, २०१५ आइतबार अमेरिकाको फ़्लोरिडा राज्यको ओर्ल्याण्डो शहरमा सम्पन्न भयो । उक्त अधिवेशन च्याप्टरका तत्कालीन अध्यक्ष चूडामणि खनालको सभापतित्वमा सम्पन्न भएको थियो । ओर्ल्याण्डो पाठशालाका बिद्यार्थीहरु, गुरुआमा आरति राई, अमिता देवकोटा, गुरुबा देव राई तथा अन्य अभिभावकज्यूहरुबाट नेपाली रास्ट्रिय गीत तथा बसुरिको धुन प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो। डा. चेबन आचार्यले कविशिरोमणि लेखनाथ पौडेलको जीवनीको चर्चा गर्नु भएको थियो।

च्याप्टरका निवर्तमान अध्यक्ष चुडामणि खनालले आफ्नो कार्यकालमा भएका संस्थाका गतिविधि तथा उपलब्धिबारे मन्तव्य व्यक्त गर्दै आफु निर्वाचित भएको बेला गरेका घोसणा बमोजिम अनेसासको वार्षिक कार्यक्रम अनुरुप सम्पूर्ण कार्यक्रमहरु सुचारू रूपले सम्पन्न गर्नुका साथै सन् २०१३ देखि बुद्ध जयन्तिलाई बुद्ध सम्बन्धि निवन्ध प्रतियोगीता संगै अनेसास फ्लोरिड च्याप्टरले आफ्नो वार्षिक कार्यक्रमको तालिकामा थप गरेको प्रस्ट पार्नु भयो। सोहि अवसरमा निवर्तमान अध्यक्षले आफ्नो कार्यकालका अन्य पदाधिकारीलाई सम्मानपत्र वितरण गर्नुभएको थियो भने नवनिर्वाचित सभापति मीना शाक्यले संस्थाले भाषा साहित्यलाई प्रवर्दन गर्दै अगाडि जाने विचार व्यक्त गर्नुभयो।

कार्यक्रमकै अवसरमा नवनिर्वाचित महासचिव निजानन्द मल्लले विदेशी भुमिमा नेपाली कला, संस्कृति, भाषा साहित्यको महत्वमाथि प्रकाश पार्नुभएको थियो।कार्यक्रममा जानुका खनालले अनेसास केन्द्रिय सभापति पदम विश्वकर्मा, च्याप्टरका सस्थापक अध्यक्ष सुन्दर जोशी, च्याप्टरका पूर्व अध्यक्ष डा. बिध्याराज सुबेदी, बोर्ड अफ ट्रस्टीज अध्यक्ष डा. श्याम कार्की, एसोसिएसन अफ नेपाली तराइयन इन अमेरिकाका अध्यक्ष डा. जय प्रकाश साहले प्रेशित गर्नुभएको शुभकामना मन्तव्य पढेर सुनाउनु भएको थियो। प्रमुख अतिथि श्री डिल्लीराज खनालले विभिन्न देश भ्रमणका अवसरमा आफुले गरेको अनुभवको सम्झना गर्दै बिदेशमा रहेका प्रवाशी नेपालीले नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य, संस्कृति तथा कलाको माया गर्नुका साथै त्यसको संरक्षण तथा सम्बर्धनकोलागि धेरै योगदान गरेको चर्चा गर्नु भयो।

सोहि अवसरमा त्रिवेणी साहित्य संगमको १६औ श्रृंखला कार्यक्रमको पनि आयोजना गरिएको थियो।कार्यक्रममा निजानन्द मल्ल, चूडामणि खनाल, आरति राई तथा समुहले गीत प्रस्तुत गर्नुभएको थियो भने चेवन आचार्य, हरिओम प्रधान, तुलसी आचार्य तथा मीना शाक्य लगायातका कवि कवियत्रीहरुले आ-आफ्नो कविता वाचन गर्नु भएको थियो। सहभागिहरुले कविता, मुक्तक, गित, संगितका माध्यमबाट उपस्थितहरुलाई मनोरञ्जन प्रदान गरिएको थियो ।

अनेसास फ़्लोरिडा च्याप्टरले यस क्षेत्रमा नेपाली भाषा साहित्यको जगेर्ना गर्दै स्टेटका विभिन्न शहरमा नेपालीमुलका बालबालिकालाई नेपाली भाषा सिकाउने ध्येयले पाठशाला समेत सञ्चालन गर्दे आएको छ।
कार्यक्रम को अन्त्यमा स्थानिय महानुभावहरुबाट तयार पारिएको स्वादिस्ट रात्री भोज संगै कार्यक्रम बिसर्जन गरिएको थियो।

Dear Community members and team,

This year’s Laxmi Jayanti and Happy Holidays with “Nalina Chitrakar Nite” will be on December 6th, 2014 at Greenacres Community Center. We plan to discourage speech (bhaashan), however poems are allowed in memory of Mahakavi. Immediate past President of INLS Mrs. Gita Khatri from New York will be our chief guest. We try to make the event more entertaining. Local artists along with pop singer Nalina Chitrakar will make the event more fun during this holiday season. Sorry for the short notice. Please stay tuned, we will send detail information and evite within couple of days. We try to manage with $10 to $15 per person depending on participants (but not more than $15), that includes dinner and concert with free smile and happiness.
