NASeA Expresses Deepest Condolences Following Devastating Floods and Mudslides in Rasuwa

The Nepalese Association in Southeast America (NASeA) expresses its profound sorrow and heartfelt solidarity with the families and communities affected by the devastating flash flood and mudslide that struck Rasuwa District and surrounding areas in the early hours of Wednesday.

With more than 400 people reported missing and the number continuing to rise, the disaster has caused extensive loss of life, displacement of families, and severe damage to homes, villages, roads, bridges, and critical infrastructure. Preliminary reports suggest that seismic activity may have triggered an avalanche, sending snowmelt, debris, and floodwaters into the Bhote Koshi River, resulting in catastrophic flooding throughout the region and downstream communities along the Trishuli River corridor.

This tragedy has deeply resonated with Nepali communities across the globe. Despite the distance, we remain united in our concern and compassion for those affected. Our thoughts are with the families awaiting news of missing loved ones and with all those who have suffered unimaginable loss and hardship during this difficult time

NASeA extends its sincere gratitude to the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, health professionals, emergency responders, and volunteers who continue to work tirelessly in rescue and relief efforts under extremely difficult conditions. Their dedication and courage bring hope during this time of immense hardship.

We call upon the national and international community to support ongoing humanitarian, relief, and recovery efforts to help affected families rebuild their lives.
